Regrets

Everyone has regrets,
Some greater,
Some smaller.

I regret not speaking out,
Saying how I felt.
Not taking action yesterday.

Regrets haunt and hurt,
Make me think about the past
When all I want
Is to look to the future.

If I don't do what I want
I will regret it for ever.
I try to please others
And throw myself to the side.

Looking after everyone around me
Makes me feel better
But then my mind and body
Fall into disrepear.

I regret being afraid,
I regret staying silent
And letting everything
Fall away from me.

I regret not being myself around you.
I regret not saying anything.
I regret letting go.
Though better to let go
Than to hold to a hopeless cause.
